Broadband adoption among U.S. consumers seems to be slowing, with the three largest broadband providers in the US posting the lowest subscriber increases in years during the second quarter of 2008. AT&T and Verizon, in particular, reported increased in broadband subscribers that were small fraction of numbers in past quarters, with growth in the tens of thousands instead of hundreds of thousands. Comcast reported a less dramatic drop-off. In India, broadband is headed in New Delhi . DSL Vs. Cable Broadband In the highly competitive world of broadband Internet, there are two MVPs: DSL and Cable. They are both high speed and reliable. The following are the comparison between DSL and Cable. DSL connection speed is usually 1-2 Mbps but in cable modem speeds are almost always at least 1-1.5 Mbps. DSL is distance sensitive. DSL- is not available in all areas, but is usually available in urban areas but the cable is available everywhere. For the customer service DSL people don’t have the best reputation but they have the ample knowledge. Cable Internet service providers generally have better service and will respond to customer requests faster. Compare to the cable connectivity speed DSL connection has the highest speed. So it is better to buy the DSL connection.
