Changes in Detroit
Arguably the League’s hottest team, the Detroit Red Wings, have made the NHL Highlights recently. While this isn’t surprising, the reason for their showing might be. The team recently announced a twelve-year contract that locks in Henrik Zetterberg, the Center who has 43 points.
Now, this might be great for the Wings as they are pinning down a great asset. However, there are questions about what will happen to other leaders, such as Marian Hossa whose contract is coming up. As the team’s goals leader, Hossa is also a great asset. Oh, and so is Pavel Datsyuk and a string of others whose future with the Wings might be questioned.
