How to train a puppy not to jump up
When learning how to train a puppy to not jump up, usually giving your puppy a sharp push with your knee works well. Do not push it away with your hand and do not say anything friendly or unfriendly. This would be paying more attention than is desired. It is best to ignore this undesired behavior completely.
Try to prevent your dog from going wrong when you arrive home, by squatting down to stroke and hug the dog. You then remove the necessity for it to jump up. If, on the one hand, there is no necessity to jump up at you and, on the other, jumping up brings negative reactions, the dog will stop doing it.
