Getting Autographs Is Tougher These Days
Years ago there was a much smaller celebrity culture. Stars were very big stars still but there wasn’t the publicity machine that exists today and the paparatzi just turned up at events like film premieres and charity events.
With fewer people following the stars around they were more available to members of the public. There was a real chance that you could go for a meal and bumbp into somebody famous. This made autograph collecting a lot more genuine and honest.
These days we have people following the stars around just to get an autograph they can sell. They may not even be interested in the star but they still want that valuable autograph.
It is a shame things have gone that way but it doesn’t detract at all from the joy of getting autographs that you have wanted for years.
