Dangers of waiting when you may have hearing loss
My buddy Bob has had hearing loss for a while and he didn’t realize, and what no one had ever told him, was that his procrastination had permanently affected his ability to hear properly, ever again and that he would have to have ear hearing aids to hear for the rest of his life. What Are The Dangers of Procrastination? Bob wasn’t my first client to ask, “Why didn’t they tell me?” I’ve heard the same question from other patients who learned what they never realized before. When it comes to hearing loss, procrastinating can be dangerous.
Here is why waiting to get your hearing loss treated is dangerous: 1. Untreated hearing loss can actually lead to a situation where your ability to understand words becomes permanently diminished. 2. Hearing loss is different from most other health conditions where symptoms are readily apparent. Frequently it’s difficult for someone with hearing loss to know they have it. 3. And, when they do discover it, their misperceptions about hearing loss are likely to cause them to put off treatment for years.
