Avoiding “Rough” Fabrics to Prevent Eczema

People with eczema, especially atopic dermatitis, have a tendency to react to “rough” fabrics. These are fabrics that do not give, have a coarse feel, are heavy, and fabrics that do not let the skin breath. These fabrics are uncomfortable and they wear down the skin’s natural protective oils. Wearing softer, more breathable fabrics are an important step to finding a natural cure for eczema. There are plenty of fabrics available now that are made from natural fibers. Some are even made from organic materials. In general, most scientists recommend wearing softer cotton fabric to prevent and control your eczema.
