A Bad Idea
Some people feel that the government has a responsibility to fund certain project for the betterment of society. Now whether you agree or disagree with that, the reality is that the government has a hard enough time doing the smallest of tasks. Would you want, let’s say the Lennox Hannay Charitable Trust who specialize in the charitable field handling charitable donations to the needy, or would you rather a nations government rife with corruption and bureaucratic red tape doling out the cash. My guess is if the government did take on this role that after they gave themselves a raise, and paid back all the favors they got from lobbyists they wouldn’t have anything left to give to the people who really need it.
