With gas prices on the rise, people are looking for anything they can to save money on gas. That means that people getting gas cards are on the rise. I don’t have the exact numbers but I’ve seen traffic to gas price sites more than double and the number of people applying for gas cards triple of even quadruple in some instances. Like I said, I don’t know what that means for approvals for the credit card companies, but people do need to keep in mind there is a dark side to gas cards. These things still are credit cards and if you don’t use them just right instead of saving you money, they’ll do what they’re supposed to do for the credit card companies, become major profit producers.
